I thought this show might be of somewhat more-than-usual interest: The New Orleans Radiators, in their first post-Katrina appearance, played a pair of shows at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, and the second show featured an appearance by the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir:

Now, I must admit, for myself, that I've had doubts about Bobby for years and years and years, but when he's on, he can be pretty darn good, and in this case, I definitely think he was on. Well worth checkin' out, sez me. :)

Also note, the Rads are playing Los Angeles this weekend; if you've got nothing better going on, you should make a point of seeing them, and help support some excellent, but currently slightly homeless, musicians. And if you're not in LA, check your local music listings to see if any New Orleans musicians are playing in your neck of the woods. Help keep the spirit and music of New Orleans alive through this troubled time -- and have some fun while doing so! :)

(Meanwhile, I'll just keep sittin' here on this nice, safe, earthquake fault zone....cheers, y'all! :)

Tons of thanks for bringing this show to our collective attentions.

I've seen the Rads dozens of times, having been lucky enough to attend college in the great city that hopefully will rise again...I recently caught a Rat Dog show and Bobby was in fine form despite delivering a very weak set list (show was 8-24-05; don't know if it's uploaded or not)and having some vocal difficulties...but I'm betting w/the Rads he'll be especially juiced up for a great show. Can't wait to hear it...

Thanks again for the link and I encourage any and all to DL past Rads shows, especially acoustic sets they played at places like Snug Harbor and the Maple Leaf Bar...let's hope we haven't heard the last from those great venues!

bobby was totally on. Are these guys famous? I might be a littlevout of touch due to excessive studying, but I've never heard of them.

they have been around now for 27 years and counting!

they are famous to their fans and some older heads. but still mostly unknown amongst the younger generation . they are a fun band to see live . check 'em out !

Yeah, I never heard of them myself until a couple of years ago, but they're great! I've been kicking myself for all the years of lost opportunities to see these guys.

They're pretty popular among other musicians, though. This is the band that played at Warren Haynes' wedding. Warren called 'em the "the best party band on the face of the planet," and who am I to argue? :)
